The Real Superman - 40 Pack

The Real Superman - 40 Pack

SKU: 7.0

This tract will reveal the Real Superman.

As a young kid growing up, I watched Clark Kent, the man of steel (Superman), on TV.  The announcer said "Faster than a speeding bullet!  More powerful than a locomotive!  Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound!"

Mark Cahill's book, The Watchmen (page 38), tells the story of a real-life hero: a young teenager from Africa, who moved to the USA to go to college.  While visiting his family at home, a kidnapper came into the house and tied up his family.  The teen got loose, stood up and said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, you are not going to kill my family!"  He put himself in the line of fire, and the kidnapper shot him in the chest.  It was pretty bloody!  The gunman, seeing all the blood, ran away.  This young man, out of a brave heart and love for his family, was willing to lay down his life that they could keep theirs.

Now let's go the Bible and look at another real-life hero, a super hero, named David.  David was the youngest of eight brothers from the house of Jesse.  He was a shepherd boy who tended the sheep.  David was later chosen by God to be the next king of Israel.  As he waited to be crowned, he served as a musician, a player of the harp, for the troubled ruling king, Saul.  While David played, the evil spirit that troubled the king was driven away (1 Samuel 16:23).  David also served as the king's armor bearer (1 Samuel 16:21).  David loved his God, his king, and his nation Israel.

Because of Israel's disobedience to their God (1 Samuel 12:9), Israel became troubled by the Philistines and were once again in fear of captivity and destruction.  The Philistines gathered together their armies to battle (1 Samuel 17:1).  The prophet Samuel vividly describes the confrontation: "And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span (i.e. between 9' 9" and 10' 6" in height).  And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail (scaled body armor); and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass (125 pounds).  And he had greaves (armor) of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.  And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels (15 pounds) of iron."  (1 Samuel 17:3-7)

Wow, Goliath was one big fella, a real giant, along with a really bad attitude!  Goliath shouted a challenge to the Israelite army, "Choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me!“  (1 Samuel 17:8)

Are you kidding?  Who in their right mind would go "as a lamb to the slaughter?"  Fear came upon all the brave men of Israel that day except for one: David the shepherd boy.  In the past, David had witnessed the power of God as he killed both a lion and a bear that went after the flock of sheep he protected (1 Samuel 17:34-36).  Then David cried out, "Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29).  And he prepared for battle with the promise of God: "The LORD shall fight for you!" (Exodus 14:14). King Saul offered David his armor to wear into battle, but David chose to face the Philistine giant with five smooth stones and a sling.  "And the Philistine (Goliath) said unto David, 'Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves (thin narrow pieces of wood)?'  And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.  And the Philistine said to David, 'Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.  Then said David to the Philistine, 'Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and He will give you into our hands.'" (1 Samuel 17:43-47)

David was fired up!  "David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.” (1 Samuel 17:48)

Can you believe this kid, this champion of the faith?!  What if we, as Christians, trusted God to do what He promised as did David?  I can only repeat the words of Moses, "Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD."  (Exodus 14:13)

Well as it turned out, God, Who cannot lie (Titus 1:2), kept His promise and David slew that foul-mouth giant Goliath, the champion of the enemy of God.

With the promise of God and with a simple sling and one stone, David became a super hero, a defender of the faith.

We now have a hero, a real super hero, and now the ultimate hero, the real superman.

About two thousand years ago, the God of heaven saw that man was losing the battle that he created for himself through disobedience to God’s Word.  The Bible declares, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men (everyone), for that all have sinned."  (Romans 5:12)

Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our sins and gave the ultimate sacrifice of His life for our salvation by dying on the cross for the sins of the world!

The Bible declares, "But God commendeth (proved) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  (Romans 5:8) "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."  (John 15:13)

Just like the young Christian teenager that trusted Christ to keep him and his family safe from harm, and just like David (the young shepherd boy) who by faith trusted God to bring him victory, so too "the LORD shall fight for you." (Exodus.14:14)

You too can be an overcomer by taking God at his word.  The Bible clearly tells us, "But as many (you and me) as received Him (Jesus), to them gave He power to become the sons (children) of God, even to them (you and me) that believe on His name."  (John 1:12)

In Jeremiah 33:3, God tells us to "Call unto Me (the LORD), and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."

God's hotline is open 24/7.  Go ahead make the call!  He is waiting to hear from you!  "For God so loved the world (everyone), that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever (you and I) believeth in Him should not perish (suffer complete eternal ruin and destruction in the Lake of Fire), but have everlasting life (in heaven).”  (John.3:16)
